Workout: 4km/30 min; around the neighborhood; gusty winds, grey skies, light snow (WHAT?!)
Yeah, that's right- towards the end of my run the winds picked up and some snow fell. The weather was terrible. It was cold and the wind was suffocating. But I just HAD to go for a run today. For the past two days I've been feeling terrible...just sluggish and weird. Ryan says I cycle through this mood every few weeks. I don't believe it happens as often as he says. Anyway, I just had to run today to set the pace for the rest of week. I need to stay on track and get myself ready for the 10K. I know that I won't reach my time goal (1 hour) but I just want to make sure that I am mentally ready to FINISH. Judging by today's performance, I think I'll be OK for the race. Despite the weather and my dismal attitude, I felt fine during my run and could have gone on longer (if I didn't have to get breakfast back to the apartment). This week I hope to get at least 3 runs in if not more.
The days leading up to the race I'll be on a mini hanami vacation but I hope to get one long run (8+km) in during that vacation. I'm picturing myself running around Hirosaki castle while cherry blossoms are falling.
